What makes the fundraiser particularly special is that it is spearheaded by Maywood resident Joey Diaz, who has autism. He is a graduate of the Maywood Schools and Hackensack High School. He currently works as a custodian for the Maywood School District.

In addition, Diaz is an avid runner and races for his own personal best and for Autism Speaks.

“Joey is an individual who has endeared himself to Maywoodians for years and who is an ambassador in many ways for our great town,” said Michael Jordan, school superintendent.

The comedians, including headliner Hackensack’s Rich Carucci, the Steamroller of Comedy, are donating their time. Knights of Columbus are providing the room so all proceeds from the benefit will go the Autism Speaks. Tickets are $15.

For tickets and additional information, call 201-694-6938. The Maywood Knights of Columbus are at 105 Grove Ave., Maywood.
